20″ flatscreen
Wow. I had no idea how cheap flatscreens are now! So… it’s time to lay my old 20″ CRT to rest. I recently moved my office and the lighting is a bit different (brighter) and suddenly my CRT seems far too bright. Plus it has a big gnarly scratch and doesn’t quite vertically adjust as it should. I love having a dual monitor setup and I’m not quite sure why it took me until a couple months ago to set that back up, but I’m really excited about upgrading to a more true-to-color setup… uh… considering a play with colors all day, I guess that makes sense! 3-7 days and counting…

it’s pannnnk!

It was time for an upgrade.
And I had to get myself SOMETHING for my birthday!
I shopped around, not much, long enough to see the cute pink Motorola Razr camera phone and I decided - yep, that’s the one!!
It should be here in a few days.
Yay! :)

Jellyfish… and MORE jellyfish!
My husband and I took a daytrip to Hugenot beach yesterday for Valentine’s Day - a perfectly lovely day - and saw the most amazing thing! There were MILLIONS of jellyfish, washed up on the shore! Literally, MILLIONS of them. I’d never seen anything like it and the picture above doesn’t even come close to capturing the intensity. As far as the eye could see… beached jellyfish.
I just so happen to know a Jellyfish Guru and she said they’re Cannonball Jellies and it may have been caused by an offshore storm because they’re not able to swim against the current, or possibly the rising ocean temperatures. However, usually when these things happen, they wash away as quickly as they arrive, so it really was perfect timing on our part to see such a thing.
Strange, huh?

gauges, controls and widgets, oh my!
I’ve been having a lot of fun with my job the past few days. Not only do I have a couple of coolio projects (like the vector Flash gauges above and the fun little HTML/CSS org chart below) but I also have a helper now, who has taken a huge burden off my shoulders. As I told him… I can breathe again. *ahhh* I’m really amazed at his dedication and hard work over the past couple weeks. I can just mention things to him and he makes it happen. I’ve been working far too much lately with no hopes of a light at the end of the tunnel… so I’m seriously celebrating right now, and enjoying the sunshine, the breeze, the taste of water… it may sound silly, but I feel like I’m waking up from a long sleepless dream… refreshed and ready to enjoy life again!
life is good.
