video candy…

awww yeah! I found the mother load of amazing stock video footage to use as overlays, borders, frames, textures, etc. I stayed up all night playing with Pick Flowers — yep, I figured out how to download and convert the YouTube FLV so I could import into Premiere — now it’s just a matter of creativity (and still learning my way around Premiere, of course) but it looks soooo cool! And I was able to cover up the Heavenly Noise title and officially make it a Smile Rays production. :)

Flashback to when I was 8 years old…

I remember the debut of MTV. They played the “I want my MTV” video over and over and over again. I had never seen anything like it. I was glued to the tv for days. It was at that point that I *knew* I wanted to do graphics for a living. My dream, as a starry eyed kid, was to work for MTV and make cool videos. ha! :)

video conversion

it’s a freakin’ nightmare!

take time to pick flowers

i’m trying to download Pick Flowers from YouTube (because I lost the original files in a horrible computer crash) Fortunately, Firefox has a plugin that allows you to save videos as .FLV - which then has to be converted to .AVI so I can play with it in Premiere. I downloaded FLVPlayer, so I can read the file. Then Kingia Video Converter to convert the file. Sweet… except the outputted AVI is only 1 minute long or it has a dinky little logo in the bottom right. Not so!! Such is life in the world of freebie software. Still searching… Cory, I totally understand what you were talking about now.
